The Pet Spot Expands to Meet Demand for More Pet Boarding Facilities Norwood Pet Resort Prepares to Open Expanded Boarding Area Norwood, Ohio, October 22, 2009 – Just in time for the busy holiday season, The Pet Spot is expanding its boarding facilities to respond to an increase in customer demand. The new construction will add almost 10,000 square feet to the existing 40,000 square foot building and will accommodate 100 more dogs in The Pet Spot’s popular pet suites.

“Despite the decline in personal and business travel, our demand for boarding facilities continues to grow,” said Terry Rath, owner of The Pet Spot. “During our peak boarding periods we had long waiting lists and we found ourselves turning away too many of our valued customers, which was uncomfortable for us and our customers.”

“Some of our most enthusiastic customers were so determined to have their pet stay with us, they reserved their suites a year or more in advance,” says Jeff Voelpel, Managing Owner. “We had to make it easier on our customers to get the pet care they wanted.”

The new suites are 12x4, each with a pet cot and a separate play area. The expansion also includes 45 individual outside exercise areas, giving pets time outdoors for fresh air and business breaks. The Pet Spot’s advanced air circulation system helps to assure that the boarding area is clean and healthy. The new suites are scheduled to be open for visitors by November 10, 2009.

Kelly Pescovitz of Indian Hill considers The Pet Spot a home away from home for her dog Odie. “We hate to leave him, but The Pet Spot staff is friendly and dependable and when Odie is there, we know he’s in good hands.” She notes that she can keep tabs on Odie while she’s away via Web cam, available in the luxury villas and in the pet play arenas.

Villas decorated to a theme start at $31 dollars per day. They have sound insulated walls, glass windows and doors, a cot, TV and a Web cam. Lower priced suites are also available. They feature open air boarding with attractive green powder coated dividers. All accommodations have separate cot and play areas and pets receive at least three business breaks a day. Boarders are also encouraged to participate in doggie daycare playgroups, provided at a discounted rate. While other businesses see their markets flat or declining in today’s economy, The Pet Spot is growing. Rath isn’t surprised. “People approach their dogs and cats today as a part of the family. They want the best for their pets and we are here to give them the best.”
